Krug Grande Cuvée NV, Champagne

Unusually among Champagne houses, Krug regard their non-vintage Grand Cuvée as their top wine, incorporating the best wines available to maintain the unique house style. Fermented in old Argonne oak barriques (unusually for Champagne) and aged for longer than many houses' vintage wines, the style is rich, with noticeable autolytic, yeast aromas, nuts, dried fruits and toast, yet with great finesse and complexity. Almost certainly the finest non-vintage sparkling wine in the world.
